  • Welcome to "Cliff Top Club", a high altitude adventure resort, located in the Garhwal Himalayas of the northern Indian state of Uttaranchal.Clifftop Club at Auli is located at an altitude of over 10,000 feet in India's most scenic location amid the snow clad Himalayas. The resort provides a 270 degree clear view of the snow covered Nanda Devi range (the highest in india and third highest in the world). Other ranges in sight include Dronagiri, Kamet, Trishul, Neelkanth, Mana, and Mukut . They belong to the snow-line ranges which are covered with snow all round the year.

Clifftop Club has been built on inhospitable terrain over years of painstaking labour incorporating traditional and innovative techniques. Those who brave the drive to the resort are rewarded with a magnificent sight as the resort rises into view from the steep path that leads up to it from Joshimath. For those who prefer to zip up in the cable car, the resort seems like a tiny speck in the vast snow or grass covered expanse of the Himalayas, as the season may be. The warm hospitality however belies the tough weather conditions under which the CTC staff battle the forces of nature to provide comfort to the guests.

The resort is paradise in winters for skiing and sledding enthusiasts and for anyone who wishes to venture out in the snow and enjoy snow sports.

The famous high altitude Gorson Reserve forest (part of the Nanda Devi National Park) provides a splendid backdrop to the resort. The forest is richly inhabited by rare Himalayan wildlife including the snow leopard, musk deer, wild boar, wild cats, rabbits, jackals, foxes, hyena and black bear.Summers are extremely pleasant and the deodar and oak trees add to the fragrant air to promote natural health, which is strongly recommended by Physicians/ Naturopaths/ Therapists.

  • LOCATION The road from Joshimath to Cliff Top Club (17 Km) is a steep climb from about 5000 feet to 10,000 feet above sea level. The steep gradient coupled with ice on the road makes it unfit for vehicles other than a sturdy four-wheel drive. In winters (from December end till mid March) the motor road from Joshimath to Auli is not operational due to heavy snowfall. Cable car is the only mode of transportation from Joshimath to Auli. The last trip of the cable car to the resort leaves Joshimath at 4:00 pm (July-April) and 6:30 pm (May & June). Tourists must reach Joshimath before the last trip of cable car. Tourists reaching late may have to stay in Joshimath overnight. Members visiting Cliff Top Club Resort have to alight (at tower number eight of the cable car). Tower number eight is a high tower and the aged may find it difficult to use the stairs and walk down to the resort in snow. Visitors are also kindly advised to be careful with small children while getting down or climbing up the tower. The road to Cliff Top Club is a difficult hill track. If the guests wish to use their own conveyance to come to the resort, we strongly recommended a 4-wheel drive/Jeep/Ambassador car but not a luxury/small car. guests can also leave their vehicles in the parking area at the Rope way Park at Joshimath and travel to Cliff Top Club by ropeway to tower number eight with their luggage. The ropeway is Asia's highest and second largest, and charges Rs. 500/- per person for a round trip. The other alternative is to travel by road from Joshimath to Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam's Tourist Reception Center at Auli (14 km). The exciting and funfilled chair lift ride from there to Cliff Top Club costs Rs. 200/= per person for a round trip. Guests can hire a Jeep/Sumo from Joshimath to reach Cliff Top Club which roughly costs Rs. 500 (five hundred only). If in case, one misses the Ropeway, Guest can avail the night stay at Hotel Snow Crest, Located next to the Ropeway OR High Bank Himalayan Resort, Village Sunil, Auli Road.
